We didn't have reliable statistics until ICRG partnered with Harvard Medical School and found that one percent of the adult population has a diagnosed gambling problem.
ICRG research discovered that people and communities can adapt to the presence of new gambling opportunities over time, and, therefore, the introduction of gambling does not necessarily result in an increased rate of gambling problems.
The ICRG's Sports Wagering Research Project is finding that there's nothing inherently risky about online sports betting. Rather, it tends to attract individuals who may be at risk for a gambling problem over time.
