Talking with Children about Gambling

Young people gamble for some of the same reasons as adults, even if they are not of legal age to do so. Research shows that parents have the power to make a difference in how their kids respond to risky activities. To help, the NCRG developed "Talking with Children about Gambling" in consultation with the Division on Addiction at Cambridge Health Alliance, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.

The key component of the program is the “Talking with Children about Gambling” brochure, a research-based guide designed to help parents, as well as others who work with youth, deter children from gambling and recognize possible warning signs of problem gambling and other risky behaviors.

Copies of the “Talking with Children about Gambling” are available as a free download below.  To order copies or to learn more about featuring this resource on your website, contact 978-338-6610.
